September 2007 Regatta Report

With only a Nacra and the 8.5 m. catamaran Crazy Horse entered, September's regatta was cancelled and the Junior Sailing was moved to Bill's Beach Bar for the weekend where the children were introduced to a new sailing venue.

Six new applicants were paired off with the three most experienced skippers, Amanda, Bier and Petch where they sailed a series of races in the protected lagoon, using the moored speedboats as marks for the course.

The Optimists were easily transported, two to a pickup truck and in future plans are to conduct weekend junior sailing to various locations around the island where the sailors can be assured of year round sailing while exploring Koh Samui's many bays and beaches.

Many thanks to Rocky's Resort for the use of their resort tour boat.
